How we take care of our data has become a central question when it comes to securing our digital everyday life. Today, Jottacloud is a well-known provider in the Nordic region, as we create services for Elkjøp, MediaMarkt, Telia and Obos, among others. We are also expanding rapidly and aim to take over even more market share outside our own borders.

With growth also comes great opportunities, and maybe this is yours. For our tech-heavy environment, we are looking for an Android developer who can take ownership of our app and see opportunities in the challenges that lie ahead. We seek developers who are ambitious, technologically curious and who can ensure our photo timeline and sharing service will replace the stock apps that come with mobiles and PCs.

Your workday at Jotta:

• Our app is written in Kotlin, and with heavy usage of Coroutines and Flows
• The UI is made with Jetpack Compose
• The app uses many official Android Jetpack libraries like Room, Navigation, Paging… and some modern third party libraries like Retrofit, Coil, etc.
• While coding is the main focus, you will be involved in code reviews, testing and architecture discussions as a part of our workflow
• Good balance between implementing new functionality and maintenance to keep the Android app up to date with the platform updates
• Great responsibility and impact on technical solutions and implementation

You are the Android expert. We envision that you and your team take full ownership of the Android app. You will always have a team of skilled colleagues around you, who will help you to get there. At Jotta, you will spend most of your workday programming, but you will also be interacting with UX designers, testers and users.

We work with features and constantly look to improve our products. There is no locked sprint - we are flexible, work in the way that suits us best, and release as soon as we have something ready. Jotta has a flat organization, with opportunities to provide input.

We believe that good developers learn and adapt quickly. Therefore, it is more important that you have the right mindset, than extensive experience with the specific technologies and programming languages that we work with. We want to work with people who are curious about new technology, who want to learn and stay up to date, and who want to build a real good product. We envision that this describes you:

• You have a background and flair in software development
• You have experience in developing apps for mobile devices
• You have experience or interest in Android development
• You are motivated to build attractive and user-friendly apps, and do what it takes to reach the goal
